Dr. Peter Muehleis offers LASER DENTISTRY

Dr. Peter Muehleis offers LASER DENTISTRY:

The patient-friendly alternative to the drill.

How does the Laser work?

The laser removes cavities and treats soft tissue problems with the energy of light. The light is selectively absorbed depending on the strength and duration of the laser light.

In the case of a cavity, the laser gently removes the decay, leaving more of the healthy tooth intact.

With conventional drills, anesthesia is almost always needed and accompanied by noise and vibration. With the laser all you hear is a gentle popping sound. There is no contact with the tooth, you will only feel a spray of water.

What else can the Laser do?

The laser is effective for soft tissue procedures on the gums, cheeks, and tongue with less pain, less bleeding, and faster healing times. It actually minimizes or eliminates the need for needles, anesthesia, scalpels, or sutures. It can also be used for a variety of endodontic (root canal) procedures.

Deep Cleaning:

As we age, our gums are more susceptible to gingivitis and other periodontal disease. Adding laser therapy to deep cleaning procedures offers faster, easier removal of damaged tissue.

Crown Preparation:

The laser is used to gently separate the gum away from the tooth, ensuring accurate crown impressions.

Safety:

Absolutely! Even in children. Whether it’s tooth decay or tongue-tie correction, the laser will offer your child a safe, anxiety-free experience.
