I had an excellent experience at Midwest Dental, St. Louis Park. Scheduling the appointment was quick and efficient. I was able to get in the next week. The lady at the front desk is friendly and professional. Mary Anne (or Mariam), the dental hygienist was detailed, thorough, professional and very nice. Similarly, Dr. Truong was prompt, professional, and efficient. I'm glad I didn't have any delays while everyone was thorough. Great experience. I highly recommend this dental office.

Went to this location for ~7 years and Midwest Dental broadly for 10-15 years in total. While I initially didn't have many issues with this location, they slowly surfaced over the years, such as: -Not having a hygienist to clean my teeth for an appointment -Multiple appointments rescheduled multiple times on their behalf -Being billed for something that I explicitly asked them to confirm as covered with my insurance (which they did fix) It also seemed like there was a new dentist (much less hygienist) nearly every time I went for an appointment over the last few years. The cleaning and care seemed to be good, but having some of the issues mentioned above were certainly frustrating and I've since moved away from them.

Excellent service all around from the team @ the SLP location. Angi (the receptionist/scheduler) is incredibly organized, friendly, and always goes the extra step with insurance to know what's covered and what isn't when asked of it. Dr. Vy is well spoken, intelligent, relatable and friendly. She is for sure my favorite dentist I've ever had. All the dental hygienists are equally knowledgeable, friendly, timely, and professional. I cannot speak highly enough of the awesome team at Midwest Dental Saint Louis Park and am a happy customer.

I am so disappointed with Midwest Dental. The only work I needed done was re-cementing one side of the retainer behind my tooth - a 5 minutes job. When booking the appointment I was told it would it be around $50-70. After the 5 minutes of work it took, they charged me $215 for putting the retainer on, which is something they did not do. I asked them to adjust the price fairly and they would not. It was clear the receptionist thought it was unfair too. I love supporting neighborhood businesses. I was ready to refer my neighbors, family, and friends to Midwest Dental because of the original price I was quoted, but now that I have been gipped, I will advise people against them.

Had a cavity filled in February. They told me that they had to completely remove a filling that was previously in place and refill it in order to fix the cavity. 6 months later the tooth still hurts and I can't chew anything crunchy on that tooth without pain. They also sent me a bill for an additional $200 after I already paid the full difference at the office for what insurance wasn't going to cover. I wish I would've read these reviews before going because it sounds like others are having a similar experience.

On 8/1/23, I called Midwest Dental in St.Louis Park after having toothache and swelling since the weekend. I told them I don't have dental insurance and they gave me a quote for consultation and needed x-rays. I was accommodated a little over an hour after I called. Everyone was so nice and professional - the lady at the front desk, the x-ray technician, and the dentist. They listened as I explained the problem. I was given the right interventions. I appreciate that Dr. Truong respected my plan to see my dentist overseas. She gave me a referral for an orthodontist in case I need it prior to my trip overseas. There was no pressure. On top of the great experience I had, I paid way less than what I have anticipated paying. I am beyond grateful and I highly recommend this place.

Thank GOD I had the sense to get a second opinion-the other dentist said I had nothing to worry about, no cavities at appointment six months later. The kicker? Midwest Dental now had the gall to send me an un-itemized bill for nearly $300 nine months later. Very classy. Stay away from this scammy dentist. UPDATE: it’s been 4 years since I visited here and was told I had 5 cavities. Still no cavities to report at my regular checkups. I still get angry thinking that this place was willing to drill into healthy teeth for no reason

I was having tooth pain, my dentist had retired and I had new insurance. I spent a day trying to find a new dentist and I landed at Midwest Dental, right in my neighborhood! Angie at the front desk is great and got me in quickly, Dr. Truong is kind and made me feel like everything would be ok. The assistants made me feel at home. So Dr. Truong is my new dentist. We agreed on a care plan and we start next week. I'm so glad I found this office- not a big chain or "get 'em in, get 'em out" business. Real human beings who are there to take care of you and are ready to help you figure out how to get the dental care you need.

I cannot recommend the new dentist. My simple two filling replacement ended up with two root canal treatments and now waiting for putting the crown on two teeth. During the filling replacement, I felt wired already, because she did not do any rinsing or disinfecting before open my old fillings up. I don’t recall I got any type of cleanning/rinsing during the filling replacement process. The whole process was done like 10mins which really surprised me. Teeth was aching ever since the filling procedure. After a few days, I can’t bare and went back in, she just said it might be just gum and it needs more time to heal. A few days later, I had an emergency pain at night, called the dentist but they never picked up or called me back! I end up going through painful root canal and was in pain for almost one month, I was living on my pain killers 24 hours. My old dentist Dr Ley(male doctor) was great, but the new dentist there is not good.

Lack of hospitality during dental care. I had an early appointment and they were already running late and still setting things up. The hygienist was moving from room to room to grab tools and dropped many of them, only to have to get more. During Xrays I was struggling with the bite down cameras and she told me if it hurt that was okay and called out the fact that I looked like I wasn't having fun and had drool coming from my mouth. She also said that she had to check to make sure there was enough time to polish my teeth, which I assumed was a standard part of my new patient appointment. The dentist was condescending towards me and kept talking in dental terms that did not make sense. Overall, they got the job done and were obviously knowledgeably but my personal experience was not great.

I cancelled a few appointments because of Covid-19 and I was homeless. The dentist cancelled an appointment I was excited to attend to get my tooth repaired. He has yet to finish smoothing down the filling from the last visit and his assistant Mackenzie was so rude I had chipped my tooth and she didn't even bother telling the dentist. She proceeded to tell me I was rude. Then the dentist said I have to make same day appointments from now on. He DOES NOT GIVE PEACE OF MIND. Dr Le is fantastic! I have stuck with this dentist office even though there seems to be a revolving door of dentists in there for the past 3 or 4 years (location is just too convenient). Since he came aboard it has been a change and how I've been treated. He actually has had conversations with me about a dental care plan. It isn't simply go in and he'll fill a cavity or they'll just clean your teeth like you're on an assembly line.. They let you know what they recommend and how to take care of problems before they get bigger. I recently had some old fillings replaced. It went exactly as he said it would and with no complications. The techs that do the teeth cleaning are outstanding. I highly recommend this place.

I had two recent great experiences. First was regular checkup with xrays and the appointment was on time and the hygienist was efficient and informative during the appointment. She explained what she was doing and at the end had a couple of recommendations for me. Well within the time I had set aside. The second appointment was to replace two fillings and again the appointment started on time, the work on replacing the fillings was challenging given their age yet all work was done expertly. I would have no doubts in recommending Midwest Dental and their staff to friends and work colleagues.

I received services for about 3 years from this place and never had the same dentist because they kept quitting or going to different locations. None of them were particularly good dentists in my opinion either. The last time I went, they said I had multiple bad cavities even though I had zero pain. I was naive and went through with it anyway and paid for the services. Today I received a new bill for over $1,000 (with math that doesn’t add up to the total balance number). Haven’t had an appointment there since June. There are plenty of other good dentists in this area. Go somewhere else.

I’ve never had a cavity before. They convinced me to fill two tiny cavities that I had no idea I had, caused me no pain. Now I can’t eat on one side of my mouth because of pain from one of the fillings 3 months later. I moved out of state and was told they won’t cover work that needs to be done to fix the filling. Also their computer system didn’t work 3 months ago, and apparently doesn’t work now either. I wasn’t even able to get the number to their corporate office because the computer system still doesn’t work. Never going here again. Would not recommend.

If I could give one star I WOULD. Dr. Ruby was so rude to me that i am coming up on my 6m cleaning and am looking for other places to go. She was hurting me to the point I was trying to pull away and couldn't, She told me "it wouldn't hurt if you just stopped moving" I wasn't moving just to move. I was moving due to being in pain!
