Midwest Dental Plymouth – Food Pantry Donation Contest Winner

10 year old Kyle Gorman brought in 5 bags of groceries for the Midwest Dental Plymouth Food Pantry Donation Contest and was the winner if a new Philips Sonicare Toothbrush! All donations from the contest went to the Plymouth Food Pantry. Congratulations Kyle!

Midwest Dental Sponsors the Rotary Lights

Midwest Dental in Holmen, La Crosse, La Crosse Downtown, and Viroqua sponsored the Rotary Lights in La Crosse on Tuesday, November 29!

“The Grinch Returns to Viroqua for the Holiday Parade”

The Midwest Dental Viroqua team decorated a float for the Twinkling Lights Parade this November in Viroqua, WI. The Grinch, also known as Dr. Steve Solverson, is pictured with his granddaughter, Emma.

“Operation Gratitude”

The Sheboygan County Dental Society dental clinics collected 1,960 lbs of Halloween candy as part of “Operation Gratitude” for our soldiers. A big thanks to Wisconsin Cheese Company Sargento for delivering all of the candy to the overseas shipping destination in San Diego with one of its semi trailers going to California!

Midwest Dental La Crosse Downtown participates in the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo – November 2011

In addition to setting up a fantastic booth, Midwest Dental La Crosse Downtown promoted the $99 whitening holiday special and all our other services, and also gave away toothbrushes, paste, and floss. One lucky winner received a Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush!

Midwest Dental Dubuque is in the Community!

Summer Picnic Winners in Sturgeon Bay

Congratulations to the Collak Family! They are the winners of the Midwest Dental Sturgeon Bay “Summer Picnic” drawing. The basket included Free Whitening, a $20 gift card to the local butcher, 4 plates and cups, S’more fixings (i.e. Hershey bars, graham crackers, & marshmallows), sparklers, a table cloth as well as a basket!

Special Smiles Healthy Athletes

Midwest Dental employees Tammy Filipiak RDH MS, Greg Moos and Tylynn Filipiak participated in the Special Smiles Healthy Athletes initiative associated with the Special Olympics summer games in Stevens Point, WI. The athlete’s Victory Village was the location for the Healthy Smiles tent where oral screenings and assessments, oral hygiene instructions, fluoride varnish, and mouth guards were provided for participating athletes. It was the 10th anniversary of this initiative and the event in Stevens Point.

Midwest Dental Participates in Emergency Vehicle Day

Midwest Dental Sturgeon Bay was on site at Emergency Vehicle Day to provide FREE toothprints to children. Toothprints are a child identification tool that takes an imprint of a child’s dental impression and also holds their DNA. The child simply bites down into a soft compound and then takes the impression home. The kids enjoy seeing an impression of their teeth, while the benefit for parents is to have that identification as a safeguard if or when they may need it.

Midwest Dental Mondovi Donates Toothbrushes to the Food Pantry

The Midwest Dental Mondovi team donated 144 oral hygiene packets for kids and adults to the local Food Pantry. The packets include a toothbrush, paste, and floss, with a pencil also included in the children’s packets. They are available at the Food Pantry to be given away as needed.

Dr. David Young, Dr. Kayla Schreiner, and the Midwest Dental team are active community partners who work hard to provide high-quality dental care and education to children and families in need. They are committed to the health and well-being of the Mondovi community.

Midwest Dental Hosts Food Drive

Midwest Dental offices in Hinckley and South St. Paul hosted a non-perishable food drive for local food pantries in their areas. Anyone who brought an item in was entered into a drawing for a Free Sonicare Powered Toothbrush at each location.

Midwest Dental in La Crosse had a booth at the Health Fair hosted by Viterbo University on April 5, 2011. They also participated in the Wellness Expo at the Onalaska Omni Center on April 29, 2011. Midwest Dental Honored by Department of Defense for Extraordinary Support of Employees Who Serve in the Wisconsin National Guard and Reserve

Mondovi – The Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that Dr. Jeffrey Moos, CEO of Midwest Dental, was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of one of their employees – Master Sergeant Cynthia Wahl – who serves in the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard.

“I am proud to receive this recognition on behalf of Midwest Dental,” states Dr. Moos. “It truly represents our company dedication to those employees who are such a vital part of our nation’s security. While serving they should feel confident that they are being supported at home. My thanks go out to Cynthia for the nomination for such a prestigious award.”

According to Richard “Dick” Vallin, Wisconsin’s ESGR Chair, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Dr. Moos was nominated for being highly supportive of the Air National Guard by his reserve component employee. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.”

The Grinch Comes to Viroqua

The Midwest Dental Viroqua team participated in the Twinkling Lights Parade this November in Viroqua, WI. The Grinch, also known as Dr. Steve Solverson, is anticipated by onlookers ALMOST as much as Santa Clause during this holiday event.

Midwest Dental Sponsored the Minnesota Chapter of the American Student Dental Association

Midwest Dental is a proud sponsor of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Student Dental Association Mouths in Motion 5k Run/Walk event held on October 10, 2010. The event raised awareness and funds for oral cancer research.

Midwest Dental New Richmond Donates Items for Those in Need

The Midwest Dental New Richmond team donated non-perishable food items and other necessities to the Five Loaves Food and Clothing Center, a local organization that helps people in need.  The office collected food shelf items from patients during the months of November and December.  They also spent a day in December shopping for additional items to include in the donation.

Dr. Robert Darling of Midwest Dental Sheboygan Receives Award

Dr. Robert Darling of Midwest Dental Sheboygan is pictured accepting his award from the Wisconsin Head Start Association (WHSA) for the 24th Annual Community Partner Achieving Excellence Award in recognition of his committed partnership with Sheboygan Human Rights Association Head Start as well as his dedication to young children and their families.  As a member of the Sheboygan County Dental Access Committee, Dr. Darling spearheaded a Fall Dental Exam Day for the Head Start children in addition to coordinating a Give Kids a Smile event in February each year.  Congratulations Dr. Darling!

Midwest Dental Eau Claire and Mondovi Participate in Women Rock Event – Eau Claire, WI

Midwest Dental employees from the Eau Claire and Mondovi clinics participated in the 2010 Women Rock event on October 23rd.  This event celebrates women in an effort to increase awareness and raise money to help the fight against breast cancer.  The group had a booth where they talked about the importance of oral cancer screenings, in addition to overall dental health.  They raised money for breast cancer awareness by raffling off a Sonicare and a free teeth whitening.
