I have never felt more authentically cared about by a dentist and hygienist in my 35 years of life. Lee and Dr. B listened to my concerns about previous dental work and validated all of the feelings I had. She even went as far to Apologize for my previous work that had happened prior to her coming on to be my dentist! Her genuine concern was amazing. I'm impressed that both Dr. B and hygienist Lee took the time to not only listen to my concerns but also took the time to explain things to me as well as provide advice and education in the most compassionate way. I left the dentist feeling validated and supported today! Thank you ladies!

This is a good dentist, the hygienist are nice and take care of your dental work properly. My biggest complaint is the lack of transparency from the front desk receptionists. They aren’t very upfront about the billing process with what my insurance covered and what my copay was. When I called regarding my billing situation the day before my appointment (on 2/19), they told me one thing, and then at my appointment, they tell me another. It’s not good to spring surprises on your clients..

Chrissy at front desk is amazing and Lee (hygienist) kept me informed every step of the way during the appt with added humor and professionalism. Dr B is excellent as well! Cleaning was excellent, doctor is excellent but the office manager leaves a lot to be desired. I need a few things done and I had it scheduled to be billed in 2023 and some in 2024. I was told verbally on the phone AND in person that it would be billed that way. They messed it up and the office manager would not take responsibility or try to solve the problem. I was literally kicked me out of my appointment and rescheduled for ANOTHER month because SHE was so upset. My time is important also and I was lied to about when my procedures were to be billed. I know how my insurance works and this was on them. So LOUSY customer service from Office Manager. She is a problem maker not a problem solver.

My son needed a tooth removed and Midwest Altoona got him in the same day I called! They were so accommodating and let me come back with my son so I could be next to him. Other pediatric dental offices we previously went to would always fight me if I expressed that my child wanted me to come with. Dr. A was AMAZING. This was the most horrible experience of my life! The new doctor and his assistant were rude, aggressive, and even laughed while I was being operated on. The hygienist allowed water and spit to poor down my face and neck. The doctor tried to diagnose me with a disease without even doing full X-rays. I have to have gas for cleanings & they did the extraction without giving me anything for my anxiety.

I've had about 10 crowns done by various dentists..We moved to Altoona recently and our neighbors suggested Midwest Dental..Glad they did..Just had DR. MONICA SHEA SHOOK do a crown for me...This was by far the best one I've had done...Hardley any pain, what a great Dentist to talk to/laugh with...One added bonus is she has a beautiful voice and she hums/sings along with the music that is piped in the room and the singing takes you away from the procedure she is doing and you enjoy her talents. I would suggest any age person go see her, on the scale of 1 to 10, I'd give her a 12!!!!!!!!

Had root scaling done ?.. (I will update once I get the hygentis name.) She was AWESOME! Initially I would have rather be thrown into a cage full of tigers than have this procedure done. Boy im sure glad I didn't go that route? She was very careful to the areas of sensitivity as to not cause further pain. Results are amazing and almost zero soreness. Kinda weird you only get one side done at a time but due to the time i get it.. so one side of my mouth feels super clean and every time i look at my teeth i can remind myself how important it is to keep up with your dental care twice a year.. I'll be back for the other side soon and I'm not freaking out or considering alternative things which probably would be alot worse than this.

Been going to this dentist for about 2 years now, and not a very pleasant experience. Dr. Haben is uncomfortable to be around and is not easy to talk to. Only reason why I went back is because its very close to my house and the hygienists are super nice and do a great job. Recently had an experience where I was a few minutes late to my appointment, and they wouldn't accept me in. I would understand if they were busy, but there was no one in the parking lot or lobby. The receptionist was very rude in trying to reschedule an appointment, only offered me days that were 3+ months out. Im happy to say I am taking my business elsewhere.

Have always had a bad experience, the only reason I chose this place is because it's close to my house. Habben inexplicably ground down one of my front teeth crooked when I had some work done that they caused leaving me with a very visible white spot and a crooked looking tooth! Upon inspection, the color of the filling which was supposed to match the tooth color was way off, a yellow color! And he has no bedside manner, treating people like cows and rushing to the next patient as soon as possible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
